To bring business operators in the private & public sectors in West Africa to engage with targeted foreign agribusiness investors in the Middle East to make deals in New Forms of Investments (such as strategic alliances, joint ventures, technology licensing, mergers and acquisitions, share purchase agreements, etc.). This event is holding on the sidelines of the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) and the World Government Summit holding in Dubai.
Using the World Bank’s agribusiness investor targeting methodology to target and promote West Africa as a veritable investment destination in the light of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA). Working with the West Africa High Commissions in Abu Dhabi and in Dubai, we are targeting those who have expressed interest to do business in West Africa and match them with local pre-qualified and profiled investors.
Target subsectors are agribusiness (cashew processing, shea butter processing, rice milling, soya oil production, cassava processing, etc.), and infrastructure. Investors in the Special Agro Processing Zones (SAPZs), free trade zones, ports and roads and dams, etc., will be matched with foreign direct investors. It is a closed event, not open to just any one. It is not a seminar, but a matchmaking meeting!

The ‘InvestWestAfrica’ event is an investment facilitation project of Commodities Development Initiative (CDI), organised in partnership with institutional partners in the region including the Federation of West Africa Chambers of Commerce. CDI believes that with a collaborative partnership, more investment can be attracted to the West Africa region to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and to combat youth unemployment in the region. The InvestWestAfrica event is holding side by side the ‘Invest-in-Nigeria Roundtable’ supported by the Nigerian Government through the Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission.
